Red Oak

Red oak can look like a lot of different things. It can be very red or rather neutral. The color mellows slowly over time, too. These are samples from a variety of scraps in the shop.

The samples above with a new and unfinished (raw) Racine map and the first board I made in 2022 (also raw). You can see how the red tint disappears over time.

It also looks VERY different with different lighting and backgrounds. Look at the one above on a grey background and retail-style LED lighting vs this one to the right with a tan countertop and soft-white light bulbs.
